Limited Edition Mustang to be auctioned for charity – Dallas, TX

Looking to buy a new Ford Mustang? Ford will be auctioning the last 50 Year Limited Edition Mustang at this year’s Barrett-Jackson collector car auction in Las Vegas this September. The car will be number 1,964 of 1,964, commemorating the year the Mustang was introduced, and will be signed by a number of Ford executives.

Proceeds of the auction will go to the Get Your Heart Racing fundraising event, which supports the Edith and Benson Ford Heart & Vascular Institute. The winner of the car auction will receive a VIP package and get to travel to the Ford EcoBoost 400 NASCAR race at Homestead-Miami Speedway on November 16, where their car will be the pace car.

Each Limited Edition 50 Year Mustang will include a plaque on the instrument panel engraved with a serial number and the signature of Ford Chairman Bill Ford. Number 1,964 will also have the signatures of other Ford executives, and will be unveiled at the Get Your Heart Racing Pit Party on September 12 in Detroit.

The limited edition Mustangs can be identified by their unique chrome trim in the grille, side glass and tail lamps. The car will only come in Wimbledon White or Kona Blue, and the interior of the car will have special stitching and two-tone cashmere and black leather. Both a six-speed automatic and six-speed manual is available, and the 50 Year Limited Edition is the only Mustang that will be available this year with the automatic transmission and the performance pack.
