Custom Ford Transits of SEMA
At last week’s annual SEMA show in Las Vegas, Ford showcased customized Ford Transit vans from five coachbuilders from across the country. The five vans show how versatile the Transit van can be, with concepts ranging from an off-road vehicle to high-end luxury transportation.
Local company Vegas Off-Road Experience built a Transit with off-road capability that can transport guests in comfort at their events. Modifications included off-road wheels and tires, LED light bars, rugged fender flares and bumpers, LED flat screen TVs and custom interior lighting.
The team at Formula DRIFT customized a Ford Transit that will be used as a support vehicle at their series events next year. The van has a large workspace that houses fire extinguishers, tools and cleanup equipment, as well as fire suits and helmets. Performance suspension, exhaust and air intake were added for track duty, along with a matching Kawasaki Mule track support vehicle.
The customization experts at Galpin Auto Sports in Van Nuys turned a Transit into a luxury premium motor coach, designed to fit the needs of high-end transportation services and limo companies. GAS took inspiration from the conversion vans of the 1960s and 70s, and added even more premium features, such as an integrated bar, 52 inch movie screen and matching luggage.
The Ford Transit is easily customizable to many different applications since it is available in a variety of lengths, roof heights and configurations. If you are in the Dallas area, take a look at Ford Transit vans in inventory here at 5 Star Ford.
